The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation sponsored a meeting to discuss the technical interoperability of Open Educational Resources. This two day meeting on OER Interoperability was held at the Hewlett Foundation in Menlo Park, CA on December 10-11, 2007.

We envision this meeting as the beginning of a discussion about OER Interoperability. We are structuring the meeting to result in a tangible list of recommend practices for organizations who create or distribute OERs, as well as commitments to implement these practices. This meeting is the result of a number of parallel discussions held with the Hewlett Foundation regarding interoperability and use/re-use of Open Educational Resources.

Objectives/Outcomes we believe we can achieve:

  • Checklist of recommended practices for resources
  • Checklist of recommended practices for sites
  • Commitments from meeting participants to review and implement the recommended practices

This meeting was by invitation only. All products of the meeting will be openly available from this web site.
