Start an OpenCourseWare Project

OpenCourseWares (OCWs) are open access collections of educational materials used in formal courses.  There is growing momentum among higher education institutions to participate in this “open” movement.  Through OpenCourseWare projects, universities can share and contribute their knowledge and expertise in an open and easily accessible manner.

Help is Available

To help you evaluate whether an OCW is right for your institution, read the background information below on starting an OCWs and the intellectual property issues surrounding OCW.

In addition, COSL has developed the eduCommons OpenCourseWare management system to help institutions host their own OCW instances.
