Intellectual Property for OCW

last modified 2009-03-11 13:35

Introduction

The OpenCourseWare (OCW) approach works in harmony with national and international copyright law to allow authors to retain copyright to their intellectual property while giving users permission to use, adapt, and redistribute their teaching materials for non-commercial purposes. All content published in an OCW site should be IP-cleared, meaning that the OCW publisher has the rights, either through ownership or by license (permission) to make the materials openly available.
